Réunion Island is famed for its trail running and hiking opportunities, with more than 50 paths of all lengths, the island makes an excellent playground for hikers and runners alike. Perhaps the most famous trail here, the Grand Raid (formerly la Diagonale des Fous) has featured several times in the Ultra-Trail World Tour as a challenge for a selection of the worlds finest trail runners. The technical difficulty these paths should not to be underestimated. The wild Island of Réunion refuses to be tamed; even if embarking along one of the 'easiest' footpaths, you should expect muddy sections, steep irregular steps and exposed tree roots at the very least. Whether you choose to run or walk, the trails of this wild island are a rewarding challenge to conquer. Unsure if this adventure is for you, or struggling to chose between running or walking? Our very own former winner of the Grand Raid and true expert Thierry is at your disposal to answer any questions you may have. Whichever trail you dare to tackle, we are here to help and encourage you every step of the way.
